I'm sure by now many have heard of the upcoming ability to transfer a character from one server to another. A date has not actually been set for this ability to come out and the exact restrictions have not been set in stone yet either.
Izmar gave some of the current particulars on the IRC yesterday. According to the current standing, you will be able to move your character and anything that character is carrying; but your Bank and House will remain on the original server. There will also be an incredibly long wait between transfers per account so you will not be able to transfer another character on that same account for a potential 6+ months.
I'd like to state that I am against the idea in its entirety, but I know that will not stop it from being implemented.
When this becomes a reality, I'd suggest even more restriction on what a character can bring over with them. I would like for the character's Inventory, Merchant Inventory, Item Quick List, and Mount Inventory to be completely empty before the character could be transferred. I'm for allowing you to bring your gear that is currently equipped and your kamas that you have with you at the time. I suggest empty Inventories because I don't want some bored level 200 coming in from Rushu with 20+ of some of the most expensive and rare items in the game and cornering a market on a server that is of a low population just by jumping into the server.
Imagine the long standing Breeders of Rushu bringing their entire stock of mounts to Zatoishwan and completely controlling the market with pure bred mounts since most Breeders that are on Zatoishwan will not have even come close to that yet.
I do see this helping the population on Aermyne that mistakingly joined that server. They could come to a server that is actually in the International Community and receive Moderator support from English speaking Moderators.
Izmar also stated there would be very heavy restrictions on transferring to new servers should any come out in the future.
